Get More than a simple safari

LIVE AFRICA

While Rhotia Valley is the perfect place to come home to after a nice day of safari, you can also choose to spend a day or two in the surroundings of the lodge.

Cultural walk

Walk through the fields, learn about the local plants, and experience several aspects of every day life of the farmers, in the company of one of our local guides.

Hiking

Hike with a professional ranger through the forests of the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area, either for a short walk or for a full day’s trip from the rim of the famous Ngorongoro Crater all the way down to the lodge.

Lunch in the Village

After the hike or the cultural walk, you can rest and get a delicious meal at a local restaurant. You will enjoy the local atmosphere of a local village. The lovely meals are prepared with fresh ingredients from their own gardens and the local market in Karatu.

Visit at the Children’s Home

Visit the Children’s Home, the Farm, the gardens to see how we have developed through the years. Many guests like to share their thoughts and knowledge allowing us to reach for the next milestone.

The childrens home can only be visited during school hours to allow the children their maximum privacy.

Visit our Schools

Go back to school! You can go to one of our schools with the children in our Zebra Children School Bus and spend some time there.
